About

My name is Dr Daniel Marshall, and I hold esteemed fellowships with the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

My specialist training encompasses lower limb surgery and trauma, with a primary focus on hip and knee arthroplasty — skills I refined at the renowned Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in 2023, recognised as one of the world's leading hip units. My training also included lower limb deformity correction and foot & ankle surgery, with completion of the Lower Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction Surgery Fellowship in Sydney, NSW.

My specialist skills, developed through training in WA and NSW as well as international Fellowships and visitations, include robotic-assisted partial knee replacement, total knee arthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty.

I am Fellowship trained with both the ROSA and MAKO robotic systems for hip and knee arthroplasty procedures. My expertise further extends to complex procedures of the foot and ankle, including total ankle arthroplasty, minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, and deformity correction using intramedullary and circular frame devices.

Presently, I am contracted publicly with South Metropolitan Area Health Services in Western Australia, including service at Fiona Stanley, Fremantle and Rockingham General Hospitals. I also conduct private lists as part of the esteemed Orthopaedics WA team out of St John of God Hospital Murdoch.

Prior to my training, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Anatomy & Human Biology at the University of Western Australia (UWA), followed by my postgraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle. My journey in the medical field began as a Junior Medical Officer at Fremantle Hospital, where I decided to cross the Nullarbor and embark on the NSW Orthopaedic training program — an invaluable experience across Sydney and regional New South Wales spanning seven years, before returning home to Western Australia to complete my Orthopaedic training.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive international exposure through hospital visitations and Fellowships across Europe, the UK and America, and have provided much-needed orthopaedic care with WACHS in remote communities in the Kimberley, WA, and in Tonga as part of medical outreach work. I have contributed to The Journal of Arthroplasty through published research and have presented at numerous regional, national and international conferences.

I am dedicated to providing high-quality orthopaedic care to reduce pain and restore function, whilst preserving range of motion — with the ultimate goal of improving each patient's quality of life.

My wife Maggie and I take pride in our role as parents to our two children. Outside of orthopaedics, I find fulfilment in surfing, swimming and fishing — and, perhaps controversially as a proud Western Australian, I remain a committed supporter of the AFL's Hawthorn Hawks.
