Dr Moniz completed his medical degree at theUniversity of Western Australia (UWA) and was awardedFellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and theAustralian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) following his specialist training in Western Australia. He further honed his skills through an AOA-accredited fellowship at the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland and gained invaluable international experience working alongside renowned orthopaedic surgeons inIreland, the UK, France, Switzerland, and Italy.
His subspecialty interests include:

✅ Arthroplasty – Shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, and knee joint replacements
✅ Sports Medicine – Arthroscopic reconstructive surgeries
✅ General Trauma – Comprehensive care for fractures and workplace injuries
Beyond his surgical practice, Dr Moniz is passionate about education and research. He maintains an academic role as a clinical lecturer at UWA, mentoring medical students and contributing to orthopaedic research. His academic interests focus on enhanced recovery after surgery and emerging assistive technologies, including patient-specific implants, artificial intelligence, and robotic-assisted surgery.
Dr Moniz is committed to combining proven techniques with a professional and personalised approach, ensuring his patients receive the highest quality care and the best possible outcomes. Outside of medicine, Dr Moniz is a talented musician who enjoys playing the piano, saxophone, and guitar. Most importantly, he cherishes spending time with his young family.
